What future do you see?
This is the question that the Ivey Business School at Western University in Canada is asking as they celebrate their 100-year legacy of real-world leadership.
To see a future full of promise and opportunity over the next 100 years, we need to look ahead to ways education, leadership and business can magnify their impact on business and society.
I studied business at Ivey, graduating in 2001 and was honoured to be asked back to give a key-note talk and bespoke workshop.
My talk was about Return on Humanity: Getting you and your company ahead of the curve by putting humans back into the centre of leadership and business. And I created the workshop for a smaller group of 30 people, focused on Leadership Styles, and unlocking “What kind of change maker are you?”.
The conversations with the students were fantastic. It was not only humbling to be asked to be a part of such an important event, but also inspiring to see so many bright, determined and engaged young people, keen to drive real change in the world.
I believe that successful 21st-century business will be human-centric.
But human-centric companies are only possible with human-centric leaders.
And this is what TIE is all about. Helping to unlock and develop those human-centric competencies, self-awareness and sense of team to thrive in this landscape.
