I can’t believe this photo was taken in 2008. Look at us!
This is Ryan Fisher from Wieden+Kennedy (he was there then and he’s now running the place!), me, and Wladimir from an HIV/AIDS NGO in Recife, Brazil called GTP+.
This moment was the beginning of TIE. The third ever programme to take place.
Back then, the concept was simple: bring people together from entirely different worlds, challenge their thinking, and create something powerful.
A lot has changed since then. TIE has grown, evolved, and expanded in ways I couldn’t have imagined. But the heart of what we do remains the same.
What if the way you see the world is holding you back?
Most organisations know their teams need to think differently. They want to break down silos, bridge divides, and find new ways to collaborate and innovate.
But talking about these ideas doesn’t create change.
At TIE Leadership, we take people beyond their comfort zones, exposing them to perspectives they’d never otherwise encounter. We take them to the edge of their mental maps—and gently nudge them off. Forcing evolution in behaviour change.
Here’s how we do it:
- Global immersion: Our programs span 29 countries, connecting participants with people, communities, and challenges far outside their daily realities.
- Unlikely connections: Imagine working on a business challenge with teammates from your company and changemakers from across the globe—pushing you to see solutions through a new lens.
- Radical perspective shifts: From working with limited resources to rethinking assumptions, our participants leave transformed, ready to drive innovation and connection.
This isn’t just theory. It’s lived experience. The kind of experience that sparks lasting change—not just for individuals but for entire companies.
We do it virtually, we do it through immersion, we do it at scale.
As the world keeps changing, so do we. And we help businesses and leaders prepare for what lies ahead.
Watch this space. Exciting new programs are coming to life.
