As I was launching my book last year, my daughter, who was 13 at the time, asked me a question that really struck me.
We were chatting about the talks I’d been giving around the world, and out of the blue, she asked me,
“What are the last few words of your book?”
She explained that she always pays close attention to how a book ends because, to her, those final words are the ones the author really wants you to take with you.
I loved that. And she was right. I’d spent a lot of time thinking about how I wanted to finish the book and the thinking I wanted to leave with the readers.
These are the last three lines:
“The world needs what you have. You have more power than you think you do. The time is now.”
If there’s one message I’ve always believed, be it through my book, my work, or in fact everything I stand for, it’s that.
We often wait until we feel ready, or until things are perfect. But the truth is that change, innovation, and impact rarely come from a place of certainty.
The magic always happens when we leap before we’re sure.
And often, it’s not the things we do that we regret, it’s the things we’ve put off.
So, if you’re holding back, what would happen if you trusted your instinct and acted now?
