Jessica is currently an Associate Director of Strategy at Brand Union, New York. She consults for a wide variety of clients, including KPMG, Harman and Cirque du Soleil, helping them to maximize their impact by developing and nurturing their brand.
Originally from Cambridge UK, Jess was lucky enough to live both travel, and live in different places as a child, including four months in Recife, Brazil, and a very memorable trip, aged 8, around Mexico with her family. Having completed the Teach First program in the UK, Jess came to marketing communications through the WPP Fellowship. Of her three years, the initial one was spent in the UK as an account executive at Y&R London, followed by a year in Shanghai at Ogilvy as a digital strategist, and a final year in New York as a strategic consultant at The Futures Company.
She took her permanent role at Brand Union nearly three years ago, and continues to feel energised by her role – a mixture of corporate psychologist and detective – that allows her to use a mixture of creativity and analytical rigor to solve clients’ problems. Passionate about diversity and inclusion, Jess spearheaded Brand Union’s global contribution to the Common Ground initiative, with projects aimed to put an end to gender inequality. She has also been spearheading the creation of Brand Union’s own diversity and inclusion program along with other leaders across the business.
She has a degree in Music from King’s College London, and a Masters in Text and Performance Studies from RADA and King’s.
When not working she is often found riding her road bike or doing yoga, cooking, walking her dog, Kevin, with her husband or reading the New Yorker.
Jessica is going to Sierra Leone to help Purposeful Productions develop a marketing strategy and campaign that will raise awareness of their brand. Read more about her project here.
